About Hillary Jacobs
Hillary Jacobs was born and raised in New York City. She studied sculpture, painting and drawing at the High School of Music and Art as well as the Kansas City Art Institute, California Institute of the Arts and the School of Visual Arts.
She has had multi-faceted creative careers in the arts. She was a textile designer for womens wear, she was Director of Photography for a Stock Photo Agency where she produced and styled photo shoots with professional photographers. She was also a graphic designer for many years and then started her own millinery company designing women's hats which sold to upscale department stores such as Henri Bendel and boutiques as well as building a large custom clientele. Hillary was named one of the new designers to watch as well as appearing on the cover of Women's Wear Daily.
Hillary’s drawings are a combination reflecting her fashion background as well as dreamlike sequences. She collects retro objects from the 1920’s to the 1960’s and uses these objects in her art. She also has a collection of retro dresses which inspire her as well.
Hillary now resides in North Miami Beach where she continues her work.
